Creativity and connection guide everything we do, inspiring us to build community and share our passion for the arts.

I grew up in a home filled with music and art. My Mom loved to sing, and my Dad collected, played, and recorded every genre of song on vinyl records. Trips to the opera or musicals, and family movie nights featuring classic musicals, were highly anticipated events. My Mom, a sculptor, displayed her work throughout our house. My Dad was a self-taught, semi-professional photographer and novice painter. My parents often frequented antique shops and auctions, filling our home with decadent paintings and decor.
My Dad’s passion for photography poured over to me when I was about 8 years old. I spent many hours by his side assisting him in our darkroom. Being inspired and in awe of the process led to my own love for photography. And it continues to be my favorite pursuit!
Surrounded by music, art and photography, I felt comforted and inspired. On tough days, music felt like a friend, and the art around me sparked my imagination and curiosity.
In my early 30s, I started a small company that helped collectors and dealers in the Seattle area market their prized possessions. My own collections grew, and I found joy in repurposing, creating, and reselling. After running Sunset Marine Resort and Sequim Bay Merchants for years, two friends and I began creating under the name Twisted Hinge. Our creative energy and eye for eclectic goods are remarkable! My love for photography, art and repurposing vintage finds expanded. These creative outlets invite relaxation and mental challenges that I really enjoy.
While collecting and creating with my friends, I also shared my love of art and music with my family. As my children grew, we held 'music share nights' around the fire, each person picking a song that resonated with them. Although it was sometimes hard to listen to my kids’ choices, I valued hearing their preferences and encouraged participation without judgment. Now, all four of my children are creative and have expanded my appreciation of different media.
In early 2025, my daughter and I enjoyed a quiet evening on the deck overlooking Sequim Bay. We took turns sharing our favorite tunes. As I gazed across the bay, taking in the salty air and a clear view of Mt. Baker in the distance, I exclaimed, “Oh my gosh! Share the Sound!” My daughter and I spent the rest of the evening daydreaming about how we could foster community on this land through gatherings with like-minded individuals and a purpose. Music, awe-inspiring views, peaceful gardens, special wildlife sightings, and the opportunity to feast on fresh-caught seafood make this place ideal for connecting and creating.
From that moment, ideas flowed, and Share the Sound was born. Rooted in reciprocity, Share the Sound is a space to gather, connect, build trust with like-minded people, and honor the land.
